Meet Myrna
Founder of The STEM Studio
Myrna is a first-generation college graduate and recently earned a STEM-designated MBA from UC Davis. Her career background spans finance, sales, nonprofit, viticulture, marketing, and small-business consulting. However, her most important role is being a mom to her young, curious, and energetic sons.
From her own experience, she learned that social-emotional learning and a growth mindset are important pillars of STEM learning, and she incorporates them into the camp curriculum. She’s a lifelong learner who is passionate about giving back to her community and inspiring the next generation of bright minds through hands-on STEM activities.
Meet Patience
Counselor
Patience earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Data Science certificate from San Francisco State University.
She developed hands-on science experiments and served as a counselor during the pilot camp program.
She returns this summer as a Science Program Coordinator. She is excited to bridge mindfulness with STEM learning!
Meet MADI
Counselor
Madi is 17 years old and joins this year’s camp as an administrative/industrial engineering intern and counselor.
She loves math, science, and music. She has played piano for eight years and guitar for three. In addition to her musical passions, she enjoys taking challenging math and science courses at her high school, such as Calculus and IB Diploma-level Physics.
Her goal for camp this summer is to help younger minds learn the benefits of making mistakes. She would love to instill a growth mindset among her colleagues and campers.
